True orthodontic emergencies are actually quite rare. However, should you suffer trauma to the face or mouth, you should seek care from your dentist or orthodontist.

Many of the problems that occur with braces result in cheek or tongue irritations. There is a package of wax in the oral hygiene kit that we provide from which a small piece of wax can be formed into a ball and placed over the brace/wire that is causing the irritation.

Listed below are some issues in orthodontics; some occur every day while others are less common. Along with identifying the problems or breakages, the diagram also shows possible solutions.  Regardless of the type or magnitude of the breakage, please call our office, Innova Orthodontics, to inform us so that we are able to make arrangements to repair the problem.
